Daniel Update and Video

Laura has been taking care of Daniel and his PICC line from home since the 21st, but I'm sure it seems much longer to Laura who manages his care and his PICC line three times a day. Each time she does an infusion of his antibiotics the process takes an hour - it's a full time job for Laura. Of course Mark and their other sons help as well. Below is some video of the PICC line process.
*Note* Music will play for about two minutes before the video starts.

Daniel continues to have seizures on a regular basis up to three to four times a week. Laura gives him Valium if he has a grand mal for five minutes as soon as the medication is administered the seizure stops. They will see the surgeon on Thursday to check the incision and make the infection is clearing up adequately. Laura is planning also to meet with Daniel's neurologist to discuss other medical options.

Daniel is talking more. He continuously says, "Your welcome, bye bye have a good night." Laura laughed when she told me and said that he is repeating what the Walmart clerk says when they leave.

Please continue to pray for Mark, Laura, Daniel and the whole family as they continue Daniel's treatment at home.

Watching this video made me see how maybe Jesus takes care of us. What a precious mother and family. After watching this video they weigh so heavy on my heart. Before this surgery was Daniel able to lead a fairly normal life? Has he always had seizures? What is his prognosis?

Wow, seeing this line reminds me of my brother's lines. He had numerous lines during his cancer treatment. His lines got infected and had to be moved to another spot.

Oh I ache for his sweet life. I pray God brings healing and comfort. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your prayers and concern Gina and Tiffany.

Gina to answer a couple questions as well as I can - Daniel was born super early and because of that is blind. A few years ago Daniel was diagnosed with autism which is why he picks a phrase and repeats it over and over again. They will see the surgeon this week and the neurologist soon and get more info about the prognosis. Please continue praying. They are in good spirits although tired and are trusting God!

I struggle with comments on this one Robin. Why does life have to be so difficult for one little boy? What I do know is God cares! He does help us with the difficult times. Prayers for Daniel and family.

My humanness wants healing and "perfection", "perfection" being what I think is best of course. :-) But every time I pray for this beautiful boy, the Lord says His idea of perfection is a perfect heart, not a perfect body, and He has said repeatedly that Daniel's heart is perfect before Him. He says if I fully understood the clarity of Daniel's mind and how fixed it is on Him, how open Daniel's heart is to Him, how intimately Daniel knows Him, then I might envy Daniel. The Lord is simply captivated by this sweet boy, and what I see as limits, the Lord sees as freedom.

And I am tearfully humbled.

Still, I am grieved and do not feel the seizures are of the Lord. Perhaps that is the human side of me wanting "normalcy" and not understanding the perfect purpose of some suffering, but it seems to me that seizures are a manifestation of confusion in the brain. As I understand them, they are a firestorm of miscommunication between the neurons, synapses, and dendrites. God is not a God of disorder but of peace, so it seems to me that seizures are not in alignment with the nature of God.

Father, we stand against this chaos going on in Daniel's brain. We know you formed Daniel perfectly. We know your plans are good. We also know we live in a world where Satan has power, but you have ultimate power, and that power was given to us by Christ. I speak to this neurological storm in Daniel's brain and I say, "Peace. Be still." I command the waves of activity to be still. I command the pathways to be in order. I command Daniel's brain to submit to the Prince of Peace. I come agasint Confusion, Chaos, Panic, Fear, medical curses of all kinds spoken over him, and Disruption in Jesus' name. Demons of hell, I command you to remove your tentacles from this boy's mind and body, and I say you will never return. Holy Spirit, I ask you to fill every area where these demons have had any authority so that there would be no room for their return. I declare peace of Daniel's mind. I call forth calm and rub over Daniel as a salve. Holy Spirit, breath new and fresh into Daniel.

Give Mark and Laura wisdom in walking in their authority over the demonic attacks that have been set against their son, and, Father, I call all generational curses null and void in Jesus' name. I come against the spirit of death that was unleashed against Daniel and command you demon to release him and never return to Daniel or any other member of this family. I proclaim freedom over this family. Jesus came to set free the captives and prisoners. This family will no longer be held captive by the attacks of the enemy. I call forth the perfected manifestation of Daniel for the glory of God. Be exalted, Father God, in this family. Pour forth showers of rejoicing and rest. Lead them in green pastures. Rest them by quiet waters. Restore all that is rightfully theirs for your name sake.

Father, thank you for this family and the grace they have. Thank you for their faith that serves as a beacon to so many. Thank you that they comfort and encourage others in ways they will never know on this side of Heaven. I ask that you would embrace them in a new way today, as a Lover who surprises His beloved just because He enjoys it.

Praise your holy name, Lord, for you are worthy to be praised. Your love, mercy, and faithfulness endure forever, and we proclaim that you are God above all and intimately in love with your Bride. We love you. Amen.
