Be there for Someone

Think back over the years of your life and reflect on the people that God has sent your way to love, accept and pray for you through it all. God has especially blessed my life with caring, loving and amazing women. Some of these ladies may not even realize the depth of the impact they have had and continue to have on my life.

Women who loved and accepted me when I felt unlovable. Women who shared their wisdom and directed me to God's Wisdom when my own was lacking. Women who helped me to make the best of my situation. Women who shared their failures and successes with me to encourage me in the journey. Women who allowed me to be me and accepted me just as I was and prayed for me to become the woman God dreams for me to be.

So having been loved much, I want to love others too. I want to share the love God has showered upon me with those I come in contact with on a daily basis. Pray that I see the opportunities before me and do what God leads me to do...

Many years ago, I claimed 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 as my life verse:

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."

So my challenge to you is to find someone who needs love and acceptance and give them that gift. You never know how your kindness will effect a person's life and possibly the lives of many...

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." ~ Hebrews 10:24

Thank You Jesus for loving me unconditionally and sending some beautiful humans to help me understand how special I am to You. My heart is full of gratitude to these ladies who were channels of Your love to me and please help me to be a vessel of Your love to those around me. Amen!

Robin,

Your life verse was my verse for last year. I loved reflecting on God being my comforter, and like you, I am always looking for ways to comfort others. Great post.

You bless me!

There seems to be a pattern emerging in my life lately... I've had this same ongoing conversation with several women, and more to learn in my Bible studies each night.
I long to live a gracious life, to be a gracious woman. Thanks for the encouragement today.

Robin,

I have been reading Proverbs 31. The Lord has me camped there right now. I am writing a book. I've written for years, but now I am writing a book, and Saturday night God and I had a talk about the book. The main character is named Fallon, and my journal Saturday night says, "I hate Fallon." I hate where she is. I hate her struggles I hate having to go back and delve into that misery. The Lord is incorporating many painful aspects of my life into Fallon's so that He can show the way out, just as He showed me that way out. I don't like it. Sometimes the hurt is still too fresh. When I was fussing about it over the weekend, the Lord said, "You will show others in the same prisons the way out because you know the way out." I didn't like His answer, and I asked for confirmation. Then I got your email, and now I've read this, and this is my confirmation. Only the Lord's way of saying it to me is:

The same wisdom I gave you to show you the way out of captivity you will show to others and they will be set free because of it.

Robin, thank you...from depths I cannot convey...thank you...you are one of those women you wrote about.

Blessings!

I remember a SS teacher who gave me one of my first bibles. I was probably seven. In it she wrote: "Either this book will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from this book."

What a blessing is to read your words. I have been so blessed thru the years to have inspiring God loving women in my life. From who I have learned their abilities to be compassionate, graceful, and kind thru their own share of trials.
Thank you for such a wonderful reminder.

Jel - thanks for stopping by - its neat getting to know you via blogland. Your concern for Daniel and his family means so much. When they have a chance they are going to send me some pictures to post. Daniel is still having seizures and Laura is quite tired. The PICC line is a lot of work. Pray for her endurance and that God gives her exactly what she needs.

Laura - I appreciate you more than you can know. You are such an inspiration! Thank you for the love you have shown for me! You are one of the ladies I wrote about! Thanks for being you and for being my friend!

Tiffany - With both of your blogs you are doing a great job of bringing people to God's comfort! I look forward to getting to know you better and learning from the wisdom God has given you. I'm looking forward to seeing your book in print too!

Jen - Its always affirming when several of us are walking the same journey together. We can encourage each other along. Its also neat that you are homeschooling also.

Jerri- You have been such an inspiration to me. Your love and prayers that you freely share at just the right moment to people you don't even know! Wow! Your book sounds intriguing - can't wait to see it!

Papa - You and your SS teacher are right. I'm reading a little book called Be Still and Know that I am God - What I'm getting from it is that I can't just read Scripture and say - check I read it, but I have to read it and meditate on it and ask God what He is saying to me right now and it might not be the same thing HE told me last week or last year. He wants me to grow and change and become like HIM! I will be posting about it at www.robinsreadingroom.blogspot.com when I finish reading it.

Ivy - Thanks for stopping by. I read about your homeschooling adventure in your post today - very cool. Sounds like you are a great mother and teacher!
