Quick Update

I haven't been on the computer too much lately for a couple reasons. This weekend we suffered some damage to our house and I've been very busy trying to get everything in order again. And for the past three days my allergies have been bothering me a great deal. I couldn't even sleep last night due to the congestion and pain, so I ended up going to the doctor's today. I found out that I have a sinus infection - antibiotics are flowing through my system. Hopefully they will help kick the illness quickly because I have so much to do and my house is in a shambles now because of the other problems. Please keep our family in your prayers. Thanks!

Ruthie - thanks for your prayers and your kind words.

Moms - smiles :)

Randi - thanks for your prayers also!

I'm still feeling ughhh, but I think the antibiotics are starting to work. I just want to rest, but had to do some research online for my husband.

I think when you are pregnant things are sometimes harder...but not too hard. With my second baby we scheduled a C-section. A day or two before I was to go, the plumbing got backed up. The worst thing was that I could couldn't get the several days of dishes done before I went to the hospital. Oh well, just small stuff. (;>

Queen - yeah these inconveniences we have are just minor details compared to what so many suffer in different parts of the world. Today I found out about a free book that is being given away by VOM. I posted about the giveaway today and about the book back in February on my Reading Room blog.

Hey, I've been wondering about you Robin. Sorry you have so much going on at once. I will keep you and the family in my prayers. I hope your Dad's health is doing well, too.

Much love,
Andrea L.

Robin, so sorry you are puny. I used to get sinus infections about 3 to 4 times a year. Once I was on med for almost 3 months! Horrible!! The doctor wanted an x-ray of my sinus, and Kay told me they were looking for my brain...and didnt find it. I use a netti pot now when I can. Its difficult for me to get used to, but it really works. Health food stores sell them. It really helps when you get tired of dicongestant and all that other junk. I pray that you feel better soon and that the Anti's kick the infections hoo hoo, so you can be better!
Oh, also, a netti pot will flush out pollen and dust which will help prevent sinus trouble.

Maybe it was 2 months...it was 4 series of Antibiotics, I know that for sure. Righ after each other, which can cause an over growth of yeast too, but thats another story, huh. lol :)

Hi Andrea,

Nice to hear from you! I've been so busy and then sick with this sinus infection. It's wearing me down now. I can only take the antibiotic which isn't helping with the congestion or pain... Pray that God sends a healing touch.

My dad is having a rough time still. When he was admitted to the hospital it was his whole leg infected with staph, but now its limited to the foot, but he still has a lot of pain when walking and his foot is still swollen. He can't even put his foot all the way into a shoe. He hasn't worked since this episode started. He wasn't encouraged after seeing his doctor yesterday. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as well! Thanks!

Jessica - you are so cute! But we don't want the baby to GET OUT SOON - due date - December 6th...

Pop me and email and I will share something neat with you - it seems I can reply to your messages, but when I send them something goes haywire....

Don't worry big sis is all ready to teach her vegetarian ways to the new addition. Not sure if you knew or not but the little guy is a sometimes vegetarian (haha) at least that's what he calls it. He eats meat only when he has to have it. Of course my girl loves the smell of meat cooking yet refuses to eat it because of her conviction.

And don't worry the little guy is all ready to teach the baby how to pick on big sis especially if it's a boy. He cracks me up. I say (just to annoy him) your sister says hello or she's kicking now and he looks at me with a mischevious glimmer and says, "My BROTHER says hello." or "He's kicking." I just love how he always corrects the sex for me. I have told him that I have no control and God already decided what are family needed. And he tells me he will love either, but he still wants a boy.

Julie - do you still have my email address? If not I think Kay has it. Can you send me an email telling me more about the netti pot? It's funny you should mention it because just yesterday one of the librarians mentioned it to me when we were returning some books.

Thanks!

Hi Jessica,

Your comment was cute - funny about the vegetarian part. I want to see the baby soon too! Come visit so I can do your hair.

Guess who?

Hi Robin, I use a sinus rinse called Alkolol. It's natural so I think you can still use it while pregnant.

BTW - congratulations! What a blessing. We are expecting a grand baby shortly before your baby comes. I pray health and blessings over both you and the baby.

Robin said...

Hi Jan,

I noticed that your grand baby is due a little before my bundle of joy (I don't know the sex). Thanks for your prayers - greatly appreciated!

Where do you find Alkolol and how is it used? I'm about desperate now - the antibiotics aren't getting rid of the congestion and sleep is hard to come by... Thanks!

I'm also waiting to hear back from Julie about the netti pot. I've never been a big fan of medication and would love to learn some alternative ways to deal with sinus/allergy issues.

Robin, what happened to your house? Is everything ok now? Are you feeling better? I hope so!
I haven't been on my blog for a good while so I haven't kept up. Let me know how it's going for you when you can, ok? Love, Linda oxo

Linda - we had flooding in our basement... Fortunately the kids were playing downstairs and they discovered it sooner rather than later - so we avoided damage at least (well to everything but the carpet). I called my home owners and they won't cover this - bummage...

I worked hard sopping up the carpet, then using my neighbor's wet dry vac. We borrowed a dehumidifier and two fans. The carpet is dry, but we need to get it cleaned... more $$$ Oh joy...

I also have a sinus infection - I posted something about it on my healthy living blog - something new that I'm trying...

I've checked your blog for updates but haven't seen any...

I'd love to get together sometime...

Hey...don't think you have to bring a gift or anything, but church is throwing a baby shower on the 20th at 3pm - you could catch up with some of the ladies in a goofy environment. It's a double shower for a friend at church who is having twins. We are both due on December 6th - how wild is that? They are doing the shower early because she may end up on bed rest soon and they wanted to beat that time...

If you can't come to the shower I'd still love to see you - email or call me when you can :)

linda said...

Awwwww, Robin, that is sweet you are having a Baby shower! I'm so happy for you! :) I think every Mom to be (no matter how many times) should always have a baby shower. :) If I can't make it, I will definitely plan to meet you soon so that I can give you that crib waterfall sounds toy I told you about. I think you will like it. Or should I say, your baby will like it. :)

Thanks for being so thoughtful in thinking of me! oxo

Love, Linda oxo (((hugs)))

Thanks Linda - it would be fun if you could come if not maybe we can get together somewhere or at one of our houses soon. I'm already a lot bigger than the last time you saw me...

Oh and yeah I will probably like the toy as much as the baby :) I'm just a big kid :)
