God's Presence and Work in Your Life

A good while back I read a book, Opening Windows: Spiritual Refreshment for Your Walk with Christ compiled by Mary Fairchild with entries written by a number of well-known Christian authors and speakers. Each chapter was followed with questions that encourage contemplation. Below is one of them. Feel free to share some, all, or none of your answers in the comments section. Regardless of whether you share ask yourself these questions and allow God to work in your life.

Reflect on God's presence and work in your life yesterday. What meaning do you see in your work, your conversations, and your activities? Then write a four-sentence prayer that includes adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication.

I'm glad to see you're reading - that means you are doing some relaxing and not working too hard. I love the picture of your baby at 81 days - looking good.
Blessings.

Hi Ruthie,

I actually finished this book a good while back, but need to return it to the library - I've checked it out and renewed it my maximum times...the hold up was that I wanted to type up the quotes that I liked from the book - well I finally did it today, so I can return it.

I do read a good bit. I have a blog dedicated to books I've read or want to read at www.robinsreadingroom.blogspot.com - I talk about fiction, non-fiction and even children's books.

Yes 81 days until my due date. We are all excited. I know your great grand baby is due about two weeks before my little one. I'm sure you are excited too!

81 long days! :o) Praying for you! I read some but not a lot. Mama has a book in her hand all the time! I am reading A Max Lucado book I got from Crossview. I like books with life application - I am not much of a novel reader.

Hi Papa - Thanks for your prayers! I like fiction and non-fiction. I especially like fiction with a lesson so I can feel justified in reading it :) But since I quit watching TV I feel like its okay that I spend some time reading Christian fiction. I do catch news occasionally though. My husband is very much into the political process so I do watch speeches and stuff with him too.

What kind of books does Mama like to read? I do enjoy reading Max Lucado books too - he was probably the first non-fiction writer I read as a teen (other than the Bible of course).

Hi Melanie - send me your email address in a comment and I will delete it after I read it.

I'm doing well with the pregnancy now. I've never had pregnancy complications and my fall in June changed everything. But after my month of resting everything is back to normal again. I guess this just gave me an appreciation for those who have to be on bed rest and some of the concerns that go along with all that was happening to me then.

I enjoy reading your blogs!

Mama reads many different authors - she has to keep a log so that she doesn't repeat her books. for example, she has read over 40 of Karen Kingsbury's books! :o| !!

Thanks Melanie - I sent you a test email to make sure I copied it correctly :)

Papa - I too keep a reading log and now a reading blog :) - Robinsreadingroom.blogspot.com - maybe Mama might want to check it out. There are some books that I've read (even Christian fiction that I doubt Mama would enjoy) but others I think she would. One of my favorite authors is Randy Alcorn for both his non-fiction and his fiction. Funny thing was I've been keeping a reading log for my daughter since kindergarten and one day I was checking out a library book and wasn't sure if I had read it or not before... The check out lady looked at me in disbelief and said, YOU don't keep a reading log??? I'd think you'd keep one with how much you read. So I decided then that I'd keep a reading log on the computer for myself. It helps tremendously. I alphabetize by author. My kids are both keeping reading logs, but just with pencil and paper.

Papa - tell Mama that I enjoy Karen Kingsbury too. Her books are easy to read - she was one of the first authors I read when I got back into reading as fun a few years ago. The treadmill was my big reading place - people wonder how I do it since I walk a minimum of 4.5 mph - talent - haha

Ask Mama if she has read Divine by Karen Kingsbury. If she hasn't tell her I recommend it. I bet she's read it already though haing read 40 of her books.
