My Avatar

Time Frame

Daughter - almost 7 years old
Son - just turned 4 years old

I was playing on the computer and my precious son looked at my Avatar and said, "Mommy that's you!" Then a little while later my precocious daughter saw it and I asked her if she thought it looked like me and she said, "Yes, but its a little more fashionable." Out of the mouths of babes...

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. ~ Romans 12:3

I tried to copy the avatar into the post, but I couldn't.

Kids are just too funny sometimes. Mine are thoughtful in that way also.:) Nothing like a child to either lift you up, or put you in your place. My avitar does look a little like me, my Mom's avitar looks a little like a street walker. It's all how you look at it. She probably thinks hers looks fine and mine is wild.LOL

I can't wait until my daughter's old enough to say silly things like that. I plan to write them all down!

Julie, my avatar does look like me - she just wears nicer clothes and I couldn't find my glasses either.

Justlovehim - yes, write it all down. I thought I'd record everything, but haven't because laundry and life got in the way. I am glad I have the memories I do though.

If you write down all the cute things your kids say here on your blog, you'll have a record.
When we moved last summer, our 3 grown children were here to help, and we read their "cute sayings" from their baby books and had a good laugh.
Smiles.

That's you ?? I thought it was your daughter holding a doll! You look so young! Just send me a check.

Ruthie - I'm going back through some things I typed up either as they happened or moments later and giving myself lots of laughs. My kids are so much fun! Last night my son and I hammed it up real good during a book reading - we about drove my husband crazy in a good way.

Papa - you are too much! Actually I feel younger than I am and I think I'm younger than I am, so I must be younger than I am - haha

I intended to have me look like a streetwalker! I couldn't find any sweats and slippers to use.

Momstheword - You are funny. One thing I failed to mention is my avatar probably weighs 25 lbs less than I do. I don't know many people who are as skinny as those avatars.

I actually had my avatar dressed in gym clothes before I decided to make it "more fashionable" in jeans and a shirt and then my daughter tells me I looked more like the other one :) oh well...

LOL!! Your kids are too funny.

I HATE it when my Avatar looks better than ME! Happens way too often!

But, let's face it....the Avatar has time to look fashionable! when is the last time you could actually take time to look as fashionable as your Avatar? ;)

Love and Blessings....

one time I jokingly said something about my avatar looking just like me and my daughter said, no because her face isn't splotchy enough.
Whatever.

Heather - You are so right - If I took time to look as good as my avatar I wouldn't have time to blog - haha

Kay - Our kids are so WRONG! At least I know my daughter won't lie to me. She won't let me get out of the house looking too horrible :)

Tiffany - thanks for stopping by :)

I enjoy the kid stories. Thanks for sharing.

Your almost 7 year old daughter sounds like almost 14. Oh are you in for a ride!! Grinning...

QOTW - I'm crazy about my kids and love sharing stories about them. They love reading them online too.

Carol - She is 8 now and thinks she is 18:) haha. When she was in the hospital a year and a half ago the doctors and nurses would look at me quizically and say are you sure she is only 6 and not 16. She has always been very articulate. Her doctor gave her a full spectrum antibiotic that within minutes she developed a reaction to - her body started swelling, turned red and she started itching like madness. They told me to make sure she never received that antibiotic again and now I don't ever have to remember it because she does for me.

Very sweet. I wrote lots of cute things my kids said when they were little in a journal and I like to pull it out on their birthdays for fun. Good stuff!

Hi Tammy,

I just came from your blog. Happy Birthday! I have journal type books that I write letters to my kids in also. I hope they will be treasured one day.

Robin ~ Here is my recipe for my muffins..YUMMO! They are not very sweet...I like them with a cup of coffee. My little girls love them... I do use Canola oil and 2%milk...

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup nonfat milk

2 egg whites
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
1 cup chopped apples
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease one 12-cup muffin tin.
2. Lightly beat egg whites.
3. In a separate bowl mix dry ingredients thoroughly.
4. In a separate bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Gently fold in egg white. Add to the dry ingredients. Stir until barely moistened. Batter will be lumpy.
5. Fill greased muffin tins two-thirds full. Bake about 20 minutes until lightly browned.
