Pregnancy Update

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and the visit went really well. My doctor's main concern was that my blood pressure is high whenever I come to the office. Interestingly enough when my blood pressure is taken away from the doctor's office its always fine. He said that if someone looked at my blood pressure record he'd have to explain why I wasn't on medication for high blood pressure. I assured him that my blood pressure is elevated because I'm rushing around trying to motivate my family to get to an appointment when they'd rather be sleeping. So from now on I'm going to go to my doctor's appointments alone and it will be better for the whole family. Getting myself out the door in time for an appointment is no big deal. The doctor asked the nurse to take a second blood pressure reading after my appointment and the results were perfect. He ordered a panel of tests for blood pressure issues which I completed at the lab yesterday and every single test came out within the normal range.

He still wants me to rest as much as possible and to say out of direct heat and sunlight. He also wants me to drink lots of water (I'm the Queen of Water Drinking) which is no problem at all. My gym membership is on hold until next January per doctor's orders. He said I could go to the pool as long as I went after the heat of the day and as long as I drank water even if I didn't feel thirsty because people often dehydrate while at the pool - again not a problem.

My sonogram is scheduled for July 16th and they will do a thorough check on the baby and the placenta. So I feel that my appointment was terrific news! Thank you all for your concern and prayers - keep them coming :)

:) Jessica - so are you going to come spend the night at my house so I can go to the hospital and have this baby like last time - just wishful thinking...

P.S. Jessica - you know the kids would have a ball and you would get a serious head massage while experiencing some one of a kind hairdos...

I am glad that your appointment went well. I am also glad that your doctor listened to you about your blood pressure....my last baby the doctor wouldn't listen to me...and it was annoying at best.
They didn't medicate me...but only because his nurses DID listen to me and believe me!

Hang in there little Mama...baby will be here before you know it!

(((Robin)))

I am so glad that you're doctor visit went well. Yes, do take it easy and get the rest he told you to get. I'm glad also that you are putting your gym membership on hold, or I would be worried about you. :) No walking 5 miles either! I think his allowing you to go to the pool sounds good, but do be careful in that too and make sure you follow doctor's orders in it. :) I'm excited for you and I can't wait for you to have your new precious addition to your Blessed family! :) Thanks for updating us! Oh, and you look adorable!

Hugs & Love,

Yay!! By the time the baby comes, you'll be well rested - is this a prophecy of what this baby will bring? ;) The whole blood pressure thing is not surprising, sounds like the doctor has a good sense about it. Still praying! Be blessed.

Robin, my family all left today, and our office gal's husband passed away this evening. I'll be filling her place at the office for a couple of weeks (learning a new job!), so I won't be on the blog much. Thanks for this update on your pregnancy. God is so good. He allowed me a full visit with my grandchildren and children without having to be at work. Now they are gone, and I am free to live at the office for the next two weeks...our two busiest weeks of the year! I'll be thinking of you meanwhile, and sending up prayers while you continue your journey with the baby in the womb. Love you, Sister!

robin - thanks for the heads up because this discussion regarding jake & i have triplets has to come to a stop. the THOUGHT of triplets brings pain to my uterus & sleepiness to my brain. let us take a moment and reflect on the sadness this would bring each of us to see me in this much pain and cease contiued conversation about j&j x 3.

love us ;)

You are so cute Jessica - love your comment! Can you imagine how cute some little J & J's would be? No pressure of course... Seriously I want you and Jake to have what God wants for you and its okay if its biological children, adopted children, inner city ministry, etc. (or all of the above). We will trust God with the details. Love you both! Miss you too.

linda said...

Amen! :)

(but we can still imagine the little triplets running around though, right?)

Yes Linda, and I get more excited about my new addition growing within every day :) Seeing the sonogram yesterday was a thrill even though the pictures didn't turn out well. The tech said that he got exactly what he needed. I just didn't get a picture for the baby book... I'm sure I will get plenty of those after the baby is born...
