Watch this powerful video that shows how a single choice ripples and can destroy a family... - (Thanks Lisa for emailing the link to me.)

Slow Fade by Casting Crowns
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. ~ Proverbs 22:6
As parents we are entrusted with precious treasures when God gave us our children. When they are young its our responsibility to be careful what their little eyes see and ears hear.
It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. ~ Luke 17:2
Pray for families. Pray for men and women, fathers and mothers that when they make choices they are choices that will positively effect their children and their world... Choices that make our Heavenly Father smile... Choices that lead others to HIM!
"Let no Christian parents fall into the delusion that Sunday School is intended to ease them of their personal duties. The first and most natural condition of things is for Christian parents to train up their own children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon

great entry Robin. i touched on a little bit of this today on my blog. about how it's always the small choices, the small decisions that make the biggest consequence, good or bad. The devil is sneaky and most of the time not obvious if we are not on guard and not in tune with the Spirit and listening to Him. have an awesome day! :)
So very true. What a powerful video.
Mel - I've heard the song before, but the video really made it come alive.
Randi - I plan to check your blog later today - can't wait to read what you had to say.
"you don't crumble in a day." It usually is a very slow process of many bad choices and not fleeing when you should have - long ago. Great post Robin.
You didn't tell me I'd need tissues! This is powerful stuff. We have such power to direct our lives by the choices we make. We simply can't "rewind" like in this video - I tell my kids all the time "You can't unring the bell" as a way of helping them see that once a word or action has been done, you can't take it back. I do pray that we can teach our children this important concept. I pray that husbands and wives honor their vows and give examples to others how good choices make for happy lives. Thanks for a great post.
Papa - it's so true that we don't crumble in a day...it's those little choice that add up to a volcano or avalanche and destroy us.
Life Adapted - I know about the tissues... I've heard the song bunches of times, but seeing the video really made it powerful. Pray for all families, husbands, wives and children that we become more like Jesus and less what our flesh wants so we can share the love of Jesus as a living testimony.
I think every married couple should have to watch this every morning when they wake up/and leave the house. Literally.
Choices can cause SO much damage. So many times we say, if we could only do this or that...etc But we can't go back in time. Our hearts are shattered. They may heal, but the scars are always there. All by a choice. Choices are powerful. They are lifechanging. I pray that God opens all of our eyes, and they we all want our eyes open, each day we are alive, to make good choices. I pray that we think before we act. I pray that broken hearts be healed. I pray for God's Forgiveness and Peace. I pray for wounds to Heal. I pray for God to annoint the scars with His Grace, so that they barely exist.
Thanks Robin. I have not seen this video or heard the song. It made me cry, but it was a cry I needed. It brought up some hurts, but they were just waiting to be resurfaced anyway. It's too bad that the world and media cannot focus on more things like this, to help families and bring them closer together, rather than divide them and and cause them to fall.
However, Thank God, that He is there to catch us when we fall, and pick us up after we have fallen, and to Heal our broken hearts and wounds.
Thank You God for your Love, Grace, Forgiveness and Hope!
In Jesus Name, Amen
Linda - Amen to all that you said! We must pray for marriages, husbands, wives and families - its an urgent prayer!
It really is urgent! More needs to be done. I'm thankful that you felt led to share this video, Robin.
Terrific message. If we could see ahead the consequences of some of our actions, what a different world this would be.
Linda - Yes, family life is urgent!
Moms - You are right that it could make a difference if we saw the consequences of our choices (actions) in advance.
Dag-nab-it! This made me cry, and I don't do cry very pretty.
I had never heard this song or group before, and I enjoyed them both. Thanks for posting this.
I noticed that you baby is, what, 3 months away? A little longer? You must be just about to burst your buttons. Or soon will be when baby starts to get some size. Fun! I would ask to feel a kick if I could. I would ask first, because it's kinda creepy for people to just touch someones belly without asking.
I've heard the song before and watching and listening made me cry...
If people ask I usually let them touch my tummy provided I don't feel threatened by them. I'd let you feel a kick. I'm getting powerful ones these days. The other day while my daughter was holding my stomach with both hands she asked how many were in there. I think after six sonograms its safe to say ONE, but I'd love more.
Julie - I will ask my friend soon if she can take another picture...today when she came by she said that she could tell that I grew since last week. She would be right. Since I'm using lots of hand me down maternity clothes that were given to me when I was pg with my daughter 9 years ago I'm hoping some have shrunk because if not I'm already huge!
Powerful. I love Casting Crowns. He sings about real circumstances in life -- that song "Does Anybody Hear Her" is such a chorus of today's youth. You know, this video, it all boils down to what are we willing to sacrifice. A few moments of giving in to temptation (and we ALL are tempted at one point or another) can ruin a thousand generations.
Hi Renee - I too love Casting Crowns - their music speaks to the life we live and draws us to SOMEONE greater, Jesus Christ!
Very nice. I wish I could get the video to work. Stupid computer.
